Introduction
The Shrewsbury is a non-smoking 6 bedroomed family run guest house. We are located within 5 minutes of the town centre and approx. 100m from the beach. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to contact us and we will endeavour to help.
Pre-Arrival
• The train station is approx. 10 minutes away by car. We offer a free collection service to and from the station by prior arrangement.
• There are always taxis awaiting at the station for passengers.
• We have a website.
• We can be contacted by phone, text, fax or email (details below).
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
• A residents parking scheme is in operation and permits are issued free of charge to our guests.
• There are two private spaces at the rear of the property (we take no responsibility for vehicles parked there).
• Guests can unload at the front entrance before parking.
• We can assist guests with luggage.
Main Entrance & Reception
• There is a 9" (23cm) step up to the frontage of the property and 2 steps 8" (20cm) and 6" (15cm) into the building. The pathway into the house is paved with sandstone slabs.
• The building is a victorian terraced house and not wheelchair accessible.
• The inner door is always locked and the door bell is accessible to all.
• The hallway, dining room and reception areas are covered with Karndean flooring.
Public Areas - General (Internal)
• Our breakfast room and one twin bedroom are located on the ground floor.
• The ground floor bedroom, due to size, is not suitable for wheelchair use.
• There are 16 steps up to the first floor and a further 15 steps up to the second floor.
Public Areas - WC
• A public WC is located on the first floor.
Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Lounges, Take Away & Cafe
• Breakfast is served in the breakfast room located on the ground floor.
• Furniture is not fixed and can be moved on request.
• Tables are square and chairs are without arms.
• Menus are provided in large print.
• We do not play background music in any public areas.
Bedrooms
• There is one twin bedded en-suite room on the ground floor.
• There are 3 en-suite double bedrooms on the first floor
• There is one en-suite double bedroom and a 2 room en-suite family unit on the second floor.
Additional Information
• Assistance dogs are welcomed.
• Mobile phone reception is generally good.
• We are a no smoking building.
• Wireless internet access is available for business customers use.

Recent and Future Plans
- In 2009 we redecorated the dining room and hallways, replacing the staircase as in keeping with the age of the property. The four poster room was refurnished and the bathroom refurbished and fully tiled. The deluxe room was refurnished with dark wood furniture.
- During the winter of 2009 a double room was redecorated and the en-suite refurbished and fully tiled. The spring of 2010 has seen a double room and the en-suite fully refurbished. The outside of the building has been repainted in new colours, our colour scheme is now black and cream and the front of the property has been repaved in sandstone slabs.
- During 2010/2011 we have extensively remodelled the guest house. 2 suites have been created and these are both located on the first floor. Each suite is adaptable, the four poster suite comprises of a bedroom and separate lounge and the junior suite is one large room with a comfortable seating area. Both are suitable for either two people or as a family suite to sleep 3/4 (2 adults & 1 or 2 small children). The family unit has been altered and the en-suite enlarged, refurbished and fully tiled. We have had a new roof on the main building and the carpet in the hallway and dining room has been replaced with Karndean flooring. All fire doors have been changed to white panelled doors and fitted with smoke strips as in keeping with current fire regulations.
